Conditions | The agreement provides access to Wiley journals and the possibility to publish on Open access in hybrid journals, without any APCs (Article processing charges) for the authors, starting from July 2020. |
Eligible authors | All corresponding authors affiliated with the University of Trieste at the moment of article acceptance are eligible. Corresponding authors on a fixed-term contract are eligible too: PhD students, postdocs and research assistants, interns in medicine, adjunct professors and so on. Open Access pubblication is confirmed after both the affiliation with and the permission to publish from the University are verified |
Eligible journals | It's possible to publish in all Springer hybrid journals and in the hybrid journals turning Full open access from 2023. The agreement does not cover APCs for the Nature journals. A complete, up-to-date list of eligible journals is available on the publisher's webpage dedicated to the contract. |

Licenses | Some journals publish articles under the CC-BY-NC 4.0 license, as indicated in the list of eligible journals |
Limits | The agreement covers APCs up to the nationally limited annual cap, to be shared among all CARE-CRUI participating institutions. In case the cap is exhausted, authors may choose either to publish traditionally or to cover the APCs for Open Access with their own funds. Once the article is accepted, it is not possible to postpone its publication and cover potential OA publication costs deducting from the cap of the following year. Indicatively, in 2022 the national cap was exhausted around the end of November. |
